Prairie Butterfly Butterflies take flight in the third dimension. The Prairie Butterfly block is made from "prairie points" secured in the seams of a pieced background. This pattern is a whimsical way to use up scraps or you may prefer to carefully choose fabrics for the wings. Swirling patterns in rich jewel tones, metallic prints, lace or even translucent synthetic fabrics offer wonderful possibilities! An exciting challenge at an intermediate level. Twisted Bow Tie Each block is made from a twisted tube of two fabrics. The background squares are joined simply as 4-patch orf 9-patch sections. Suitable for silk tie fabrics.
